The QST LED team has been on a tear for the last 2 months!
Immediately following the NAB in Las Vegas, our team “went the extra mile”, quite literally, driving over 3500 miles to Tampa, Florida to meet our client’s deadline.
The installation of “The Wall” at Litewave Studio in St. Petersburg, Florida was a stunning success, featuring 192 panels of HoloDeck™ 2.6i with the latest PantaBlack™ V4 technology.
This marks the 2nd HoloDeck™ LED studio in North America and the 28th VP/XR install worldwide. Working alongside our trusted partner Pixel Rain, the LED volume utilized VIVE Mars for tracking and Aximetry for media server and processing.
It’s interesting to note that QST HoloDeck has deep roots in Florida and especially the Tampa Area. “QST: Quality Systems Technology” was coined circa 2014 in Clearwater, with the help of the HiTech team (a leading LED manufacturer at the time).
Over the years, QST has been proudly chosen multiple times as a LED screen provider through our local partner, AD Systems, to the Raymond James Stadium, home of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, who hosted the Super Bowl last year.
Flying across the pond, and after a quick visit with our friends at the Ready-Set Studio a industry leader in Amsterdam, the Media Production Technology Summit ensued, set in the historic Olympia, London.
We had the pleasure of meeting many post-processing companies, technologists and integrators such as Anna Valley and Epic Unreal London Stage. 80-Six’s running shot VP set demo was especially memorable–Arguably the most popular booth at the show!
Following London, we joined forces with the Brainstorm team at CABSAT, the largest broadcasting show in the Middle East. While CABSAT may be considered the little brother of NAB, it showcased a dynamic and energetic Broadcast and Media industry of the United Arab Emirates.
We had the pleasure of engaging with several regional thought leaders, including PixoJam and Mo-Sys, who are at the forefront of cutting-edge technologies.
n a surprising turn of events, we received an invitation to the Cannes Film Festival, an iconic event known for its red carpets and star-studded gathering. This year, Cannes proved to be a hotbed of innovation for the latest techniques in Virtual Production.
Film Soho, a consortium of VP-related companies from London, sponsored the main virtual production event. The accelerator training sessions by Disguise and Brompton were particularly enlightening and noteworthy, having established close collaborations with both.
Surrounded by the glitz and glamour of the French Riviera, and VIPs from all-walks of the film industry, Cannes proved to be an unforgettable experience, fostering lifelong friendships.
Right after, we attended Cingear 2023 at the iconic Paramount Studios in LA. We were impressed by the assortment of companies and products exhibited–everything related to film: lighting, rigs, dolleys, cranes, booms, optics, cameras, etc.
Aputure, Stargate, Vū all had LED volume presence as a testament to the overwhelming interest in this area. We were especially delighted to be invited to the ASC Annual BBQ where we met Baz Idoine (The renowned DP who shot the Mandalorian)
After a quick break, we participated in the 4Wall Showcase Day in Moonachie, NJ. Notably, the truck running shot demo by 4Wall’s own, Ben Danielowski and Matt Leland, left a lasting impression.
Finally, we joined Infocomm 2023 in Orlando to support several of our white-lable OEM clients and to converse with clients in fixed-install, live-events and digital signage.
The VP crowd certainly didn’t feel left-out, as there was a large presence of VP, such as Vū Studio’s booth. We were also invited to a workshop held at Vū Studio’s amazing Orlando Studio.
Speaking of fixed-install, It was also around this time We successfully unveiled the 1.5mm curved wall at 3000 NITS that we provided for the Billionaire Mogul Ty Warner his Coral Casino property in Santa Barbara, an effort headed by Epidaur Digital solutions in NJ. The curved screen will be featured at a outdoor bar right on the beachfront property. This was arguably the first 1.5mm outdoor curved solution the deployed in a fix-install setting–brought to you QST.
That’s a wrap of our recent whirlwind trips and we look forwards to seeing you at at the next industry event!
